{"id":46,"date":"2026-03-24T21:27:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T21:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/?page_id=46"},"modified":"2026-03-24T21:27:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T21:27:07","slug":"faqs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/faqs\/","title":{"rendered":"FAQs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Frequently Asked Questions<\/font><\/strong><br \/>\n<!--\n\n<p><strong>Please note: <font color=\"red\">online registrations is now closed.<\/font><\/strong> You may still register by calling the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance at 1-800-669-6442, 612-378-2742, or can be made the day of the Walk.<\/p>\n\n--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Where is the Walk?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Duluth:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/duluth\/\">Miller Hill Mall<\/a>,\u00a01600 Miller Trunk Highway<\/li>\n<li>Saint Cloud:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/saint-cloud\/\">CentraCare Health Plaza<\/a>, 1900 CentraCare Circle<\/li>\n<li>Twin Cities:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/twin-cities\/\">Long Lake Regional Park<\/a>\u00a0in New Brighton, 1500 Old Highway 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Where does the money go?<\/strong><br \/>\nAll the money raised will go to provide services to people affected by stroke like free Resource Facilitation, Stroke Basics Classes, Volunteer opportunities and other outreach opportunities throughout the year. You can learn more about the work the Minnesota Stroke Association does for people affected by stroke by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/aboutUs\/index.php\">clicking here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What sizes are the T-shirts available in?<\/strong><br \/>\nShirts are available in adult sizes S, M, L, XL, XXL, 3XL and children&#8217;s S, M and L. Register by <strong><font color=\"red\">Tuesday night, May 6<\/font><\/strong> to ensure receiving a T-shirt. A $25 donation per walker is encourage in order to receive a T-shirt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a registration fee?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo, everyone can participate. To receive a T-shirt, a $25 donation (in donations raised per walker) is encouraged.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What if it rains?<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Walk goes on rain or shine, but there are shelters at all locations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do I have to be on a team?<\/strong><br \/>\nNo. Anyone can take part as an individual or on a team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does a team captain do?<\/strong><br \/>\nA team captain is the leader of the team. You recruit participants to join your team and on the day of the Walk you will be responsible for collecting money from your team and picking up their T-shirts from the registration desk. Some team captains find creative ways to motivate their team members. They may also hold their own fundraising events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How long is the Walk?<\/strong><br \/>\nEach Walk location is approximately one mile.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That far?! Can I bring my wheelchair?<\/strong><br \/>\nOf course! Please bring wheelchairs, strollers, tricycles, or whatever you need to make this an enjoyable experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are dogs allowed?<\/strong><br \/>\nDogs are permitted at Saint Cloud and Twin Cities locations, but must remain on a leash at all times (and remember to pick up after your pooch!).<\/p>\n<p><strong>What if I want to collect donations, but I don&#8217;t know how?<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/challenge\/\">An easy way is Take the Team Challenge<\/a>, or call us at 763-533-0088 or 800-669-6442.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do I have to make an online donation?<\/strong><br \/>\nAbsolutely not. You can collect cash and check donations and bring them on the day of Strides for Stroke to turn in.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why aren&#8217;t my cash or check donations showing up on my Team Page?<\/strong><br \/>\nOnly credit card transactions that take place online are reflected on the Web site until after the Strides for Stroke has been concluded. The week following the Walk, a &#8220;final&#8221; tally will be added as a lump sum to each Team&#8217;s tally and noted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/list-of-teams\/\">List of Teams page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I register?<\/strong><br \/>\nOnline registration is quick and easy and takes less than five minutes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/register\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Start a Team or Walk as an Individual<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/strokemn.org\/stridesforstroke\/list-of-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Join an existing Team<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Do I have to know who all my team members will be when I register as Captain?<\/strong><br \/>\nYou do not. Once you start a Team, you&#8217;ll receive a link to your Team Page that you can share family, friends and co-workers for them to join your team and donate towards your efforts. To ensure a T-shirt, we ask that you get as many Team Members signed by Tuesday night, May 5 to ensure enough T-shirts are available for your team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>When do I turn in the money I raise?<\/strong><br \/>\nYou can turn it in the day of the Walk or mail it in in advance.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to seeing you at this year&#8217;s Strides for Stroke!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Frequently Asked Questions Where is the Walk?
