Why I’m Walking
I had a rare type of stroke that most doctors have never seen. I did not look like a “typical” stroke patient, so they missed it at the ER. I still don’t look like it on the outside, but I have all the same issues, and all the same lack of support that many other survivors have (and to this day, none of my health care providers have told me about MSA!!).
Almost all my friends and family dropped me because I wasn’t “trying hard enough” to get better. I now realize that only organizations like MSA are getting information out there, and it needs to be louder and more visible so that some other family like mine will see it sooner! Hopefully I can help with that!
